Find your own Internship
Company Websites
For large companies, such as Tesla or Google, look directly at their company websites. From their homepages, look for a link to ‘careers’ or ‘jobs’. Then, you’ll often see a link to ‘internships’ or ‘university students’.
Networking
Ask your family, friends, professors, neighbors, upperclassmen, graduate students or TA’s for connections in your field. Start by asking yourself: Who do I know who may know someone in my field? Perhaps that German graduate student who helps in your lab may have previously worked in Germany, where you are currently looking to intern abroad. Don't be afraid to reach out and ask for advice or connections. A good idea is to create an Excel spreadsheet with all your professional network.
ASU International Alumni
ASU has LinkedIn groups and webpages specifically designed to connect alumni with current Sun Devils in a global network formed by more than 136 countries. You can be the next to make connections through these networks and land an internship or a job! Click on the button below for more information.
ASU Student Organizations
ASU has more than 1000 organizations, many of which with a professional focus. If you are trying to learn more about your field in a particular country, this is a great place to start. Build your international network without even leaving the campus.
Look for employees and researchers in the companies and institutions of your interest. Chances are that you will find the contact (email address) of someone. Then, you can send an email marketing yourself (i.e., with your outstanding resume) and ask for the possibility of doing internships, research programs or even full time jobs. This is the way through which Paulo (Global Ambassador) got accepted in internships in Canberra (Australia) and Toulouse (France).
